Info;

This version of Superman is from the Elseworlds 'Superman & Batman Generations', a tale which tells the story of Superman and Batman in a continuity without a sliding time scale. In other words, their super heroic careers spanning over many decades and how the world changes around them.

In this continuity, young Clark made his debut as Superboy in 1920 and continued his decades of crime fighting right the way into 2919 and beyond with his best friend, Bruce Wayne, keeping pace the whole way. Largely based on the Silver Age Superman, his adventures are hardly grounded in reality but are quite fantastic nonetheless.

Brief timeline; Any Golden Age, Silver Age or Bronze Age story in which Superman appears that does not directly contradict the following is assumed to have occurred.

1911 ≈ Landed on Earth as a baby.

1920 ≈ Debut as Superboy, protecting a young Bruce Wayne from a kidnapping attempt of the Ultra-Humanite, a mad scientist. A few months later, Bruce's parents are killed.

1920 - 1928: Lives in Smallville and has many bizarre adventures, some against a young Lex Luthor who blames Superboy for his hair loss. During this time he was close friends with Lana Lang. He also often travelled to the far future as a member of the Legion of Super Heroes.

1929 ≈ First meets Lois Lane whilst on a trip to Gotham, they both having won a journalism competition. He also first meets Bruce Wayne and his temporary alter-ego, dubbed Robin by Lois. Foiling a plot of Luthor's, a parting kiss from Lois is largely what makes him decide to go to Metropolis instead of Gotham as his adult home.

1930 - 1938: Living in Metropolis, he's recognised as a great source of pride for the city. He faces the Ultra-Humanite many times, alongside other strange crimes and threats.

1939 ≈ The first meeting of Batman (then known as The Bat-Man) and Superman, the pair foil a terrorist scheme of the Ultra-Humanite together. Lex Luthor is present as an underling to the Ultra-Humanite.

1940 - 148: Continued to operate as a crime fighter and assisted the U.S operations in World War II as a founding member of the Justice Society of America. Married Lois Lane.

1949 ≈ A heavily pregnant Lois is kidnapped by Luthor and the Joker in a plan to lure Superman into being exposed to Gold Kryptonite, rendering him permanently powerless. With the help of Batman and Robin, who had been tracking the Joker, the plot was avoided but the unborn son, Joel, had been exposed to the Gold K and thus would be born without powers. The decision was made to not reveal Clark was Superman to alleviate the torment of being the human son of Superman.

1950 - 1952: Continues as a crime fighter.

1953 ≈ Perry White, Editor in Chief of the Daily Planet is stricken with cancer. Superman goes off world to visit a planet famed for its cancer cure, but finds it overtaken by a vicious war like race and under a red sun, leaving him powerless. He concocts a plan to free the race and in doing so makes the first Earth contact with the Green Lantern Corp. Lois gives birth to their second child, a daughter named Kara. Unlike Joel, she possesses super powers.

1954 - 1958: Continues life as normal.

1959 ≈ Kara exhibits the first signs of her powers and begins to wear a medallion that keeps them suppressed. Joel is approached by Luthor for sinister reasons.

1960 - 1963: Continues as a crime fighter. Bruce Wayne retires as Batman, passing the role on to Dick Grayson. Joel has been told the secret of his family by Luthor and poisoned against them.

1964 ≈ Kara begins her career as Supergirl and founds the Justice League with other young super heroes, including Bruce Wayne Jr on his first night as Robin.

1965 - 1968: Continues his career and refused, alongside the rest of the Justice Society, to join the efforts in the Vietnam War.

1969 ≈ Lois is diagnosed with cancer, attributed to her chain smoking. Joel has entered the U.S military and is believed to have died fighting in Vietnam. Dick Grayson is killed by the Joker, leaving Bruce Jr to becoming Batman.

1970 - 1978: Kara and Bruce Jr become romantically involved, Clark continues on as Superman and has become the editor in chief of the Daily Planet. Bruce Wayne Sr goes missing on a mission. Lois is kept alive although wheelchair bound and weak, thanks to the medical care of a Dr. Holurt.

1979 ≈ Kara and Bruce Jr to be married. The wedding day is crashed by an armoured foe that reveals Clark is Superman and begins a fight with Kara that takes them away from the party. Clark and Lois are sealed in a bubble with Dr. Holurt, who reveals he is Luthor in disguise and killed Lois before escaping. The armoured enemy is none other than Joel, Luthor having given him a serum to restore the powers that were his birthright, and he kills Kara. However it was a trick, the serum also killing Joel just as Superman finds them, Luthor escaping again. Joel's wife, a Vietnamese woman, is present and reveals she has given Clark a grandson. The child is adopted by Bruce Jr and named Clark ( referred to as Clark (II) forthwith in this time line). With no secret identity, the role of Superman is taken on full time.

1980 - 1988: Becoming deeply obsessed with hunting down Luthor, Superman is a rare presence in the world and is not seen much. He is tormented by near misses via robotic duplicates and computer simulations of Luthor.

1989 ≈ Superman finally finds Luthor, who reveals he had escaped via time travel and to him, had been gone minutes. Luthor reveals the deaths of all Superman's friends and that he had machinated them. It is also revealed he is not Luthor, and has not been since 1938 when the Ultra-Humanite swapped brains with him. Ultra exposes Superman to Gold K and begins a plot to swap minds with him next. Defending himself, Superman accidentally kills Ultra but when the moment is broadcast to the world, he pleas guilty to murder on the basis that he could not be certain he did not been subconsciously motivated by his hate. As much to protect him as punish him, he is sentenced to ten years in the Phantom Zone.

1990 - 1998: Spent in the Phantom Zone as an intangible being. Clark (II) has become Robin and then Knightwing, feeling it is not right to become Batman as he is not truly a Wayne.

1999 ≈ Bruce Wayne returns to being Batman, having achieved eternal youth and immortality via an altered Lazarus Pit experiment. He frees Superman from the Phantom Zone a little early. Superman reveals that Ultra had a way to restore powers lost via Gold K and does so for himself and Clark (II), leaving Earth in the hands of Bruce and Clark (II) whilst he heads into space.

2000 - 2018: Adventures in space. This is the canon point of this journal.

2019 ≈ Visits Earth due to a beacon called from Clark (II) revealing a message has been received from the past, from Superman's adopted father Jonathan Kent. It tells the story of how he had used Superboy's technology to see the future and warn Bruce's parents of their deaths and that they had chosen to die in order to ensure Batman would make the world a better place.

2020 - 2918: Returns to space. The entire galaxy is brought largely to peace in part thanks to Superman. Sometime around 2600 he is found by Lana Lang, who had gained immortality due to the spell casting she had done as a young girl. The pair enter a relationship.

2919 ≈ Superman is found by Bruce, they the last two of the 'old ones' who started off the super hero movement and now both largely unneeded. They decide to travel to some far off galaxy in search of somewhere new that needs them.

2920 - Forever: Infinite possibility.
